Responsibilities
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and construct walls and roof systems
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials such as wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and wooden structures in diverse environments such as mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other facilities.Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to ascertain work requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate work on-site.
- Prepare layouts in accordance with building codes using measuring tools.
- Estimate labor and material costs.
- Survey building locations and levels.
- Supervise other workers.
- Prepare tenders and quotations.
